I just don't get that. If a product is good, people buy it, and as such it becomes popular. I'd rather not buy something which doesn't fulfil my needs just because everyone else has the product I want. I know I know, it's irrational so it's completely understandable, and therefore unexplainable.

It's not so much the popularity, it's the overstated hype I rebel against. For the same reason, I avoid movies that are universally loved and touted as "must see" movies.
It is completely irrational and I dare say, a lot of times, I'm "cutting off my nose to spite my face" but I can't help it.

hehe - that's the thing about irrational things. I have an irrational hatred for Nokias - but then again I find them almost impossible to use and fugly so that's probably something to do with it!
Yeah I agree about the hype, but sometimes I think to myself there must be a reason for it - often there isn't, but sometimes, there is and I eat humble pie!

Does anybody know, or have an idea, about the pre-orders for store pick-ups? I heard someone at work today say that the Apple store at the Trafford centre aren't allowing pre-orders. I'm planning on getting one next Friday I think, so if this is true about that store, I'm guessing they'll be stocking plenty for people to just pop in and buy.

You're kidding, right? They're queuing a day early?!

Someone in America maybe started queuing last week. Still, doesn't beat the queue for the latest twiglet film. Freaky emo girls and their love of angsty dead people.
