Currently playing Forza 3. So far from the couple of hours I've put into it, it excels past Forza 2 in every way. Graphically beautiful, the career mode is much more organic this time, with the events available changing depending on the cars you have available in your garage. Virtually all cars are unlocked from the start, so as soon as you earn enough in game credits you can buy your favourite car without having to worry about unlocking it. Having the game early is nice as well, as the eBay like marketplace for buying cars is relatively quiet so I've been able to pick up several bargains I'm sure I wouldn't be able to get otherwise. Anyone getting this on Friday won't be disappointed.

Davey I've played the demo for NFS and FM3 and I never thought I'd say this, but I prefer NFS! FM3 is technically superior in every where however as I am not a complete petrol head I found the FM3 demo to be competent, but not exciting. NFS on the otherhand seemed fun.

Of course there is room in the world for more than one racer!

I really enjoyed NFS: Shift when I played it a few weeks ago. I wouldn't personally put it above Forza 3 as I just prefer that style of racer, but as you say there's more than enough room for more than one racer. The problem with NFS though, is that it's trying to be realistic but the driving physics is still much more arcade like than it should be, if it's going for realism. That doesn't mean it's not enjoyable, but I think it needs to either go fully arcade again like the Underground series (but without the annoying rubberband logic) or go full simulation style and improve the driving physics. As it stands it sits somewhere between the two which is why I feel it doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

Davey, does F3 feel easier with the assists off than F2, as that's what it felt like from playing the demo.

I've found something a little interesting regarding Need for Speed: Shift... I originally wanted to wait for Forza 3 but was desperate for a track racing game, so got NFSS to play until FM3 came out.. now the problem is that I've found NFSS so good that I'm worried FM3 might not be the 'be all and end all' of racing I was hoping for.

For a start, Forza 3 will have to go some way to providing better graphics and the tier structure of NFSS works really well too (along with the badge structure for longevity).

NFS is very arcadey with a couple of assists on, whack it up on the difficulty, all assists (though you could leave on traction control, stability control and ABS if you wanted) and play the interior view and it becomes one hell of an experience.

I'd have to go back and try both games without the assists on tbh, as I never spent too much time in FM2 with all assists off.

I was offered Uncharted 2 to review so will be playing that shortly.
Soooo pleased I got asked to do it, trying to be more frugal with money at the moment and Uncharted 2 was tempting!

Just bought Uncharted 2 on the strength of all the posts in here as a present to myself for finishing exams. This better be good, or it's everyone's fault but mine.

I'm enjoying it even more on my second playthrough . Knowing exactly where to go and how to best attack difficult groups of enemies means i've died less despite upping the difficulty, it also feels more like a movie as the game is flowing better due to my increased knowledge of the controls and skills at your disposal. Just managed to stealth a whole group of baddies then threw a gas canister towards the last guy and shot it mid flight... so cool.

The graphics are simply sublime too.
