I came here to post something similar. When cars or vans can be heard in the background manoeuvring outside, and at first it doesn't even register but five minutes later you suddenly realise how long they've been doing it. My usual reaction is to just suddenly go 'What the ****** are they doing?!' and walk to the window. I do the same even if it's just a car idling. **** or get off the pot.
