So far I entirely agree. Really having to force myself to play through it which is the exact opposite of how I felt with the original. Just feels like a regular FPS with great art deco backgrounds now :/
Decent enough FPS but suffers badly when compared to the first game imo. Heavy Rain - still excellent, still slightly below par control system (although pleased it's stood you in good stead Briggykins ), still very difficult to discuss. Just not sure what to say without spoiling it Which will make writing the review interesting Excellent story though.

Tbh i think i'm going off FPS' as a whole these days, though this one is obviously below par, even to someone not as interested in the genre as others may be.
On the heavy rain front: Ruin the story for me and i will hunt you down! It's been my most anticipated game of 2010 (yes, even more so than FFXIII and GoW3) for a long time now. I just adored Fahrenheit despite the... questionable last quarter

No way am I ruining the story for anyone! I'd be furious if it happened to me. It's my most anticipated game of the year so far too.
Even my review will be spoiler free as it's just not fair on a game like this.

Ok Bioshock is really beginning to bug me now, the AI is just pitiful. How did this game get such glowing reviews? Considering the big daddy you play as is meant to be a big lumbering beast you just don't feel it, you float around just like any other FPS (aside from Op Flash and Killzone 2; the only shooters i've ever played that made you feel 'heavy'). But then the aiming is rubbish, you're unable to tinker with the settings as much as i'd like so you're stuck with a strange form of mouse acceleration that adds to the 'skating on ice' feel and all the guns feel inaccurate and unfulfilling.
It's turned into, find big daddy, plant loads of spear gun traps, lure big daddy into them by shooting one bullet and running. If still alive, freeze, drill, done. Steal big sister. Find vending machine, buy trap darts, proximity mines and mini turrets. Find corpse, plant trap darts, proximity mines and turrets all around it. Drop little sister. Hang back and watch all of the splicers run to their doom. If big sister arrives, complete the same tactic but instead surround yourself with traps, watch as she kills herself running for you. It's just repetitive as hell. This is in normal with resurrection disabled (never needed it anyways). I guess Hard would be different but i'm not starting again. I'd hoped they would have fixed the combat issues that plagued my playthrough of Bioshock one, but if anything they're now more apparent as the game seems more combat orientated without any improvements to said combat. To add to this they've screwed up what made Bioshock so amazing; the atmosphere. As Haly said it's just like any other shooter now with a novelty skin applied to the levels.
