Shaolin Soccer is brilliant although I think Kung Fu Hustle is even better. Both are films that are great simply for the pure enjoyment and silliness they involve.

John Carter
You know the infinite monkey theorem that states a monkey hitting keys at random on a keyboard for an infinite amount of time will write Shakespeare. Well I think they hired that monkey to write John Carter but kept him supplied with booze, weed and shrooms whilst he was writing as only that could explain the sheer disjointed randomness of this film and that's before I start on the gaping plot holes that can't be described as Swiss cheese as never before has a Swiss cheese been made big enough to encompass the holes required to make this a valid metaphor. This is a real shame as they must have spent an absolute fortune on the special effects, I know that we've now entered an age where we expect computer generated characters to seamlessly integrate into films but it is really impressive in this film just how seamless the integration is and just how much they are used. It's almost worth watching the film for this alone but not quite which is a real shame. 4/10 |

Went and saw a preview last night for the
Snow White and the Huntsman I really enjoyed it, I have to say before I went I didn't think it would be my thing and I thought it would be pretty boring, however even though it turned out to be over 2 hours long it flew by and I enjoyed it alot. There were parts where it was quite funny, as well as very sad at others, but it had some interesting twists which I can't remember from the fairytale. My brother however hated it, he said it was predictable and rubbish ( he is only 16, suprised I got that much out of him, normally it is just a grunt lol!) but I don't see how it could have been made without being predictable at some point afterall it is based on the fairytale.

Avengers.
My kind of movie. Didn't like SJ in it, but everyone else was perfect. 10/10

The Dictator Rather toned down compared to Borat and the format came with a whiff of desperation before it dies completely. Still it had lots of inappropriate jokes and yes I laughed at all of them. Fairly short running time but I think that was due to running out of ideas. Would I watch it again? Yes as a laugh with beers and some mates, on my own probably not. 6/10 Came across as a tired film but still had plenty of good gags. |

MIB... it was pants!
Just what the Doctor ordered! I say that... and genuinely it wasn't too great. It's not a patch on the first which always makes me chortle muchos One for a lazy Sunday afternoon or boxing day special me thinks! |
