I'd agree with Kittens review. I was a bit disappointed by it. Don't feel like I was robbed of 2 hours of my life, but at the same time, it was lacking something. The trailer made it seem better than it was. I expected to be scared stiff, I wasn't.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon
Went into this expecting it to be a complete turkey based on other people's reactions to it, but to be fair it was no better or worse than the previous ones so I got a little more out of it than I was hoping. I can't help but think the entire franchise would have been better if the Transformers didn't move at the speed of sound, so you could actually watch the action without it having to be close-up, dropping into slow motion every five seconds and sometimes just plain baffling as to what's going on on-screen. Half of what makes the films so watchable is the detail that's gone into the transformations, but you never get to really see it! I also found Rosie Huntington-Whiteley perfectly acceptable as the new female lead. I think she got a bad rap for basically not being an actor when picked for it, but let's face it, this isn't Hamlet. She did fine. My only gripe is that she's so perfectly perfect to look at, being poured into countless variations of 'little white dress', that it's wholly distracting whenever she's on the screen. Luckily, missing whatever they're talking about at the time doesn't detract from the plot. 5/10 mainly because I still can't get my head around how they filmed so many of the scenes with the actors in, even with the help of CGI. Oh, and Ken Jeong can elevate any movie by at least a point!

Iron Sky
Partly internet fan-funded B-movie tale of Nazi's living on the moon since the end of WWII. Considering the low budget and crazy storyline, the Finnish boys done good. I especially loved the Einstein-esque crazy scientist who invented USB as a means of powering the "Gotterdammerung" flying saucer to return to Earth and start the Fourth Reich. 8/10

Daybreakers 8/10
Vampires. Pretty good. Combo of that & the football made me dream about vampire footballers.

Drive
I instantly get doubts about it because it has Ryan Gosling in it, which has been the entire basis of a few very weird films that my gf has suggested for us. This was no exception. He plays a socially awkward silent type who aside from his "main jobs" as a mechanic and hollywood stuntman, used to moonlight as a genius getaway driver. He strikes up a friendship with the equally socially awkward silent neighbour (Carey Mulligan) and her hispanic looking son. Her jailbird husband who is released soon into the film, has "prison protection" debts to be paid to a local mob head(the Russian dude from Police Academy Mission to Moscow)and after a beating from some heavies in front of his son, Gosling's character offers to help him out by driving him away from a pawn shop robbery. As usual, things go wrong, someone dies and then it gets frickin savage. Quirky Tron like soundtrack, long bouts of awkward silence and glances, unexpected ridicuous violent acts. Not really worth it unless you really really love the Tron soundtrack! 5/10. Generously. And I love Tron!

Men in Black 3: 3D
SOOOO much better than MIB 2 - though that wasn't hard! A lot of fun, good storyline and could have gone on watching it! Annoyed I forgot my 3D specs and had to pay for another pair 8/10 The 5 year Engagement Too long - the story could have (should have) been told in 1 hr 30 max. Not helped by the fact I find Emily Blunt nauseous. Rhys Ifans was a good craic though 6/10 BB x |

Amazing Spiderman 3D - 8/10
It's much more tame in comparison to other Marvel films, but I thought the main leads were played well and likeable, and I really enjoyed it.
