So surely can't you backup the movie to your PC before you watch it once you've downloaded it and then simply copy it back when you want to watch it?

Nay - It's DRM'd up to the eyeballs. As far as I know it's not been cracked yet, or is a total nightmare to at least.

In which case for rentals it's pretty expensive considering all the other running costs you'll have. What's your download speed off Xbox live, I know mines pretty slow....
