ALEX!! STOP BEING SUCH A FANBOY! WE GET THAT YOU LIKE THE NETBOOK!
Seriously, I hate typing on my netbook, I bought it mainly to be able to carry around & use anywhere, but I can't, because I just dislike the keyboard immensely (have tried several other netbooks too in case it was mine, but have the same problem). It's not too small (I have really little hands) I just *don't* like that when I use it, my hands ache afterwards (I type a lot) from having to push the buttons down, however lightly. A virtual keyboard would reduce that issue, surely? May not be better with an ipad, but it would certainly be an option to consider if others have told me that the keyboard is good. As mentioned too, the photography thing is an issue for me, and that isn't good at all on the netbook. An ipad might allow me to do both easier.

ooohhh i assumed when everyone says they hate their keyboards (and some of them are DIRE) it was an ergonomic thing, but if its the physical pressing action then i guess there's nout you can do, definitely!
In other news I am a total convert to the netbook "thing" recently since i was kinda "forced" into buying one, and since then i've realised they aren't all **** although i still mess around with friends from time to time (and lets face it everyone has a netbook now days) and they definitely weren't all created equally! Leave me alone meanie... |

Clearly you haven't seen lens prices Nikon 24mm f/1.4 for £2,000. Leica M9 body only around £5,000.
Also compare the prices of the iPad to the iPhone on Pay As You Go. iPhone 3GS 32GB - £549. So for £50 more you get a far superior screen.

Yup - I paid £449 for my 16GB. However, I've had it 9 months and spend £25 on calls - which is about the same as I spent every month (on contract) on the previous phone. Doesn't hurt so much if you think of it that way.

The iPhone isn't cheap, but it is arguably VERY good at what it does. It has generally led the market in it's field (OK, many would disagree) and others are only just catching up. There also aren't many, if any, other phones that have 32GB built in so not comparable to other products. The iPad is just expensive for what it is and what it does. There are other products out there that will do everything that the iPad does and more. Maybe not in the same way or quite as slick as Apple can do it, but that doesn't make it value for money. All in my opinion of course. And yes, if I had that much spare cash, I'd buy one. And no phone.
