Comparing the iPad to the iPod touch is a more valid comparison IMO seeing as they share more in common and that leaves you with £234 vs £499 for 32GB WiFi vs 32GB

No, I certainly don't. You were the one who compared the two products and prices, not me

iPod Touch doesn't do 3G though. Its interesting though. iPod Touch vs iPad is a big difference. iPhone vs iPad isn't. Ok so you lose the phone app but in exchange you gain all the apps that take advantage of the bigger screen.

That's why I compared the price to the non 3G iPad
If it was iPod vs 3G iPad it would be £234 vs £599, £365 for a bigger screen and a built in £15 3G modem has got to be poor value in anyone's books?

Nobody's ever happy, the prices are much lower than expected. Yes, as I said before, it's an iPod Touch with a larger screen but that larger screen makes all the difference.

Of course, whether 'all the difference' amounts to £265 is a judgement call best left to the individual. |

Doesn't the iPad also lack other functionality over an iPhone like...a Clock/Alarm app that runs in the background which was clearly beyond Apple's technological capabilities to include

Must admit I don't recall seeing one.
