Same here. Although I had no idea it was next Saturday!
All a bit awkward this year so didn't really notice it creeping up.

It's not too early, it's December

Up 1st Dec, down 1st Jan, but this year we were late as we usually do it the first weekend in Dec.

It *is* the first weekend in December, so you're on time.

It *is* too early, I just couldn't be bothered with the constant "Can we put the tree up yet?" so I relented early this year.

It's December therefore it's not too early I don't get people who are stroppy about this kind of thing. It's for about 3 weeks a year and it's ace.

For me it's purely a tradition thing. It's *meant* to be 12 days before and 12 days after. That's what I was brought up with, so that's how I see it. I don't mind it being a few days early if the 12th day is midweek, I'd rather get them up the weekend before, but for me the 1st December is just way too early. Maybe it's because Christmas lost it's magic for me about 15 years ago so I don't feel the "Christmas spirit" any more. So just as you don't get people who are stroppy about it, I just don't get people who put the tree and decs up the moment it becomes the 1st of December (or before for that matter). If you stick with the 12 days tradition the decs are still up for 25 days, would have thought that was enough for anyone myself

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
