Bloody hell, that's rather steep for what sounds like a new gear linkage, a little seal and a clutch linkage. Thank god I have a mechanic who's easily bribed with food and norks

MOT + Water ingress too, but yeah steep and to top it off it won't be ready until tomorrow evening now. Lazy sods. So now I've to try and either take a day off or find a way to get to work by combination of buses and trains

Complained to manager, usual BS from him though and of course all of the courtesy cars are out..

You've both said my thoughts. That is just robbery. Did you get a quote for the work before dropping in? Thats a fair proportion of the value of the car.

That being said, I was quoted at £180 for rear discs and pads for the Focus (they were surprised when I said jog on).

I had a vauxhall garage determined to get me to pay £120 for them to replace the HT leads. Screw that. Bought HT leads for £10 (or something) at Halfords and did the job myself in 10 minutes. Would have been quicker if Dad hadn't been offering 'helpful' advice and managing to cut his finger on a blunt and smooth piece of bodywork (he's talented like that)

To be fair, Renault aren't ripping "us" off as such.
In their infinite wisdom, they designed the car in such a way so to change the headlamp bulb you have to completely remove the front bumper. They do use high quality lamps, but logic dictates that some will fail.

Genius, not.
