great idea, I <3 charm bracelets. Such a personal thing Think you'd have to get one with an adjustable size (that you clip onto the ring that you want rather than a fixed point clasp) because obviously she'll be really little now.

I concur with a charm bracelet idea. I bought myself one when I was about 11 and have been adding to it ever since. For example, I try and buy a charm when we go on holiday for a memento. It's not something I ever wear, but I treasure it dearly and it's very special to me because of all the memories quite literally attached to it
You can get a massive range of weird and wonderful sterling silver charms on Ebay too

Can you show me one, as I can't seem to find any. Liking the idea and maybe the birthstone as her first one.

Little more help please. I found a bracelet I like the look of. I take it you could clasp to any ring making it adjustable?

That's a lovely classic bracelet. I'd say that even if the clasp doesn't ift one of the links, you could do something with the silver 'O' ring to make it fit
Pretty charm too. Yeah birthstones are a bit hit and miss, just pick the one you like

Blue Topaz is December's birthstone, with the alternative being Turquoise.
Rubies are Capricorn stones, so depends if she's born after the 22nd whether or not you want to go for one of those Some places say Amethyst is Capricorn too but that seems to differ. Sagittarius is Topaz
