Non-AA battery charge seems to have taken. Not sure how long it'll last, but it worked for the five minutes I was playing with it.
Functionally everything works. Motor is a little loud compared to modern cameras, but seems OK. White balance was a little off but I've had that problem with the camera before and it's correctable either with camera settings or later. I think there might be another battery for it somewhere. No idea where though (small things get lost in this house). Anyway, I wouldn't blame you for hankering after something much newer, but if it'll get you out of a bind for a while, then please have at it. If not, I'll chuck it in the for sale thread for a suitable donation to some worthy cause. Just to reassure you, it ain't likely to fill my pockets with lolly if I try to sell it elsewhere - there are none for sale anywhere on eBay right now. I could try to sell the empty box on eBay for £5.99 (I kid you not - someone is trying this right now). I bought it in 2003 for muchos wonga, but I got royally screwed over by the shop that sold it to me so probably paid too much. Replacement batteries go for sub-£10 if needed.
