I haven't played for years but I used to be pretty good - at my best, I was probably in the top ten back home in Shetland. If I was practising for an hour, I'd usually be hitting anywhere between 2-5 180s and I'd usually average around 17 darts to finish 501.

I once got two 180s back to back but made a complete hash of the 141 checkout for the 9 darter

Bounceouts could be a slight problem if the dartboard is positioned too close to the coffee table, right enough

Well done that man. I'm glad to see I can inspire the youth of the forum. I feel it's my duty to educate and to teach by example

Good effort there Stan. I used to quite enjoy playing darts in uni halls, unfortunately not everyone was very good so we ended up with a smashed light (it was directly above where the thrower was standing, to this day I have no idea how he managed it) and lots of holes in the board surrounding it and door next to it - in fairness it wasn't aided by the occasional challenge of throwing from the end of the room which meant you were about 6 or 7m away rather than the proper distance

Good man.

Although seeing you climb into MR 2 with all that lot would have been funnier.

Hmmm seeing those purchases brings back memories...

A ridiculous Fresher's game my flat invented was Blind Lighthouse Darts. ...be afraid...

This basically consisted of what happens when BigStans's purchases get into the hands of 5 twenty something students with too much spare time and a thirst for immature disruption.

The main principle of BLD was to, like regular darts, score as the highest amount of points with three darts.

The difference being that the thrower is blindfolded, given a shot of whisky/spirit, and is spun around at great speed in a cheap office 'wheely' chair.

The 'javelin master' has to rely upon the cries of his spectators to know when to release the dart, amidst a loud backdrop of Annie Mac's Mashup. The spectators for their own safety clad themselves in chip board panelling, fixed to the limbs and torso with gaffer tape, and use a piece of perspex for the 'protective vision panel'.

The person with the lowest score after 2/3 rounds (or before anyone sustains a minor flesh wound), would be demoted to 'Queue Peasant' and at the end of the night must wait and collect the groups order of hot sandwiches from our local late night bread & filling emporium. Note- anybody sustaining an injury during the game is automatically demoted to this position and was not allowed sympathy for their foolishness.

I look forward to your bigstan youtube version of the above tomorrow morning !
