Looks like Orange & t-Mobile are formally getting the iPhone 3G but not the 3Gs. Unless you are desperate it could be worth holding off as it will give you the option of a cheaper 3G which should force O2 to drop the price slightly of the 3Gs or provide more competitive contracts.
Apparently this is due to O2 not fulfilling the obligations they agreed with Apple in order to maintain an exclusivity contract.

I'd heard the same. One (or maybe both) of the operators think the iPhone won't be a major player on their network.

Still no text. Rumour mill says that we all should have them by the 12th.

Fingers crossed!

Oooh, I might take to opportunity to cancel my contract. I re-newed my 12 month contract last June and they put me on an 18 month one without telling me. I didn't realise until I rang them up this June and they said "oh you can't have a new phone until December". What's annoying is that I broke my phone a couple of months after I had it by leaving it on the draining board and then covering it with water Currently stuck with a K800i that works when it feels like it.

Might have a look around and see what else is on offer. Not arsed about a posh phone. I use the internet too much as it is and it's against my religion to pay for a phone anyway.

I am sure my mum got that text last night, I didn't see it say anything about being able to cancel earlier though, will get her to check.

Same here really regards to the phone - I prefer if it has a camera that can take a few decent snaps, but apart from that I use it for sms, phone calls and the radio!

An Iphone would be wasted on me Fortunately I believe I am now approaching the end of my contract and as orange arent willing to let me 'downsize' my package to a smaller monthly outgoings, I think I might be going to a new contract.

Must get that PAC (or whatever it's called) code.
