Sorry, have had a quick look through the thread but need to ask: have you even tried calling Microsoft? They often replace 360s for free outside of their warranty period as they've effectively admitted the product is inherently faulty when they extended the warranty in the first place. They'd be opening themselves up to new lawsuits if they refused to repair a product of a fault caused by poor design.

Pretty sure I'm well outside of the warranty now so what's my best option? Just buy the cheapest arcade I can?
You have 3 years from the date of Manufacture on the rear of the console. I thought you bought an Elite?

Whilst Arcade deals are great at the moment there are some rather sensational Elite deals which offer games like Forza 3 and Modern Warfare 2, both of which you could use to offset the cost of the Elite to the price of the Arcade and get a 120gb HDD for free for your troubles.

Don't think anyone is actually replacing a 360 for a PS3, they'd be mad to. Thankfully Sony's console is actually at a price most can stomach.

Nope, not got an Elite. Mine was a premium and I bought the 120 drive afterwards. Looks like amazon have one of the best deals with some half decent games I could probably sell on. Still looking though

Looks like Amazon is best. £195 gets me an Elite, extra controller, Pure, Lego Batman, and a choice of 2 from Fifa 10, Borderlands and WET. Only game I really want to keep is Lego Batman so could sell on all or some of the others along with the hard drive.

I could really use a bigger hard drive on mine, I keep having to delete stuff from it. We could be talking deals here, Mr. Desmo (and/or Tink )
