I've used it after a clear out and removed over 100Mb of temp files, unused stuff in the registry, browser cache etc.

I think I'll still reformat my PC - eventually.
I suspect 40 months of collected crap would be too much even for that. |

I like crap cleaner but I won't let anything touch my registry any more.

Clean install > Removing crap from a bloated installation.
I really must reinstall my machine at some point, but I seem to be lacking motivation these days. |

It's never too much bother for me to reinstall my doze machines because of the way I keep them and backups etc, the exception being my media centre. Certain customisations are a pig to get in place again, I've only ever rebuilt it once.
I do like MCE, but Vista has a great opportunity to simplify the system to a large degree, so far as the user experience goes anyway.

I use reg cleaner for that - it seems to work pretty well.

Amen to that! Admittedly I tend to only use desktop PCs that i build myself but even so...
Daz, chances are you can do what I did which is install a clean copy on the lappy and then call M$ (I nearly barfed doing this) and get them to activate it... They only ask if the key has been used on anything else (my reaction was "Er... It's XP Home, you really think I'd install this on anything I wanted to use?") and they'll override the dell stuff...
