I didn't join a domain with mine so I can't really offer any assistance on that.

I haven't actually got that far, I keep getting reboot loops in VMWare Beta 2 and I have no idea why.

Running Vista 64 and VMWare Server Beta Build 84186

Ugh - using VMWare Server 2.0 Beta eh?

That got uninstalled from my system almost as quickly as it got installed. I also found it unstable and the new web interface is a distinct turn-off for me. Server 1.x runs just fine on Vista 32-bit but I can understand it being trouble on 64-bit.

For all my other VMs its been great and in the latest beta they've change the console to run in a different window rather then nested in the web browser. And the webconfig can actually be rather useful if you want other users to be able to access your VMs.

And the fact that other versions simply won't work on x64

At what point is it looping? I had one point during my build where I had to get into the 'BIOS' of the VM and it was really difficult to get to the appropriate key quickly enough after starting the machine.

Feek, you remember the old decathlon games where you had to hammer a pair of keys? Resurrect your skills for getting into the VM BIOS - mouse-F2-mouse-F2-mouse-F2...

I've not configured anything in the VM BIOS yet, what key is it and what did you change?

I'm struggling to remember - I think it was giving a boot error at one point and I had to change it to boot from HDD instead of CD, or vice versa.

Code:
bios.forceSetupOnce = "TRUE"
... in the vmx file will take you to the BIOS when the VM boots Or, if you prefer, you can add in a boot delay:

Code:
bios.bootDelay = "5000"
