What happens if you do use hot water and all the other "no no" things and so on?

It gets worse. The stinging sensation or something.

According to Miss Pheebles.

I hear it doesn't affect some people, or at least it's effect is more or less tolerated by some... Can you train yourself to rise above it?

That guide was from Kent police I think, but TVP kindly give you a leaflet when you get gassed. It's entitled "YOU HAVE BEEN SPRAYED WITH CAPTOR INCAPACITANT" I guess it's the same as a 1810. I'll try to grab one at work tonight.

Yes, if you have a "positive mental goal" or are really off your tits on coke (or if you are a dog) it, scarily, has little effect.

Erm I think if you're affected by it then you canny help being affected (if you know what I mean!) It's like chopping onions - if you can do it without a tear - good for you! But for some of us we're a complete blubbering mess when chopping them up and no matter how much I say "NO I WILL NOT BE AFFECTED"... it does

Some doood ran through a cloud of CS Spray wielding a huge mammoth knife (he was built like a brick house too) and despite stumbling a bit... her blinked a couple of times and continued running towards the officers They had to do a runner bless em So yeh, doesn't affect all!

Hot water/hot hand dryers... ANYTHING hot is BAAAAAD! From what I was told in training, CS Spray are made up of little wee crystals that pop very easily. When they pop/get into eyes/tear ducts and things and dissolve you're in trouble Heat is one of the main triggers to them - even if you think you've got rid of most of them and you wash your hands in hot water - ones remaining will start popping again and you'll be floored all over It happened to me after a day out with them - got back, had a shower and *POp POPo popOP POP POP* ... was in the streets in a towel trying to blink into the wind!

It's not fun and I don't envy anyone who has to go through it! I just hope with Pebbleys they don't do direct in the face like with me... cos I was welling up for a good 30mins or so!

Does it actually hurt or is it just unpleasant or an uncomfortable feeling?

For me, cos I have sensitive skin my face hurt (felt like I'd poured nail varnish remover over it) and it went all blotchy. Eye wise, it was like peeling onions... and then rubbing onion juice into your eyes I guess it's like soap in the eyes but a much worse sensation. Physically I could hardly open my eyes and I wanted to rub them (bad idea as more crystals would break)

Different people react in different ways Though like I said - I had it straight in the face cos it didn't work first time EVIL sergeant!
