It could be worse, you could've bought an iPhone in which case MMS wouldn't be an issue to you at all. He He

It's the fact that the 880i's keys are so narrow that can actually make it painful to send a lot of texts. After a while it just starts to dig into your thumb. I was surprised by this one as I expected more from an SE phone. As I stated earlier in the thread the backup software is crap, the features limited, the camera is average (no surprise on a W phone though) and mine has just come back from the workshop after it decided to switch itself off at its own discretion.

Gonna have to disagree with you there Apol.

Have had my w880i since July and haven't had any problems with it. I text a fair amount and find the keypad comfortable, the camera is better than I expected and other than in low light/indoors takes some pretty good pictures (as can be seen from my Prague thread, every photo taken whilst there was with my w880i), not had a problem with the backup software and have found it slightly better than activsync (which I use with my M600) for contacts and the music transferring programme worked a treat

I love the w880i and three of my friends have upgraded to it since I got mine, such a shame that you've not had a similar experience.

Well, if you have resembling sausage fingers you'll never find it an easy phone to use. For example, while mine was away being repaired I had to revert to my old Nokia 6111 which was infinitely superior to text with. Not that the 6111 is a great phone mind you, but they keypad puts that of the 880i to shame. RE the camera, don't get me wrong in that for what it is it's quite good. It's only a 2mp with software zoom and for that it can be commended for its results, it's just that the game has moved on and given SE's reputation for phone cams I expected more. As for the backup software, how did you find it better than active sync? As an app I found it to be a more polished program that's for sure, but in terms of options it's poor. Activesync allows me to backup everything on the device, whereas options are limited with the SE software.
How did you backup your texts as I couldn't find the option?

Activesync has never given me the option to review what it backs up, so if you wipe all your contacts and then plug your phone in then it'll sync your outlook contact list with your phone contact list and delete them. Which I thought was brilliant The SE software doesn't have this problem as you can set it to keep newer contacts and it won't delete missing ones. Not sure if that was fixed in the latest version of Activesync as I've not plugged my M600 in since the rebuild.

Backup texts? Never mentioned anything about that, have never been able to back them up, not with activesync and not with the SE software.

Activesync should give the a list of checkboxes to tick or leave blank as desired to determine what is and is not copied. Perhaps you have an older version of the software. Incidentally BOTH of these phones have better backup software than Samsung which are (or at least used to be) incredibly flaky in their connectivity.

No I meant as in which is to be the primary source. With Activesync you can set either the device or the PC to be the primary source and the one to be taken as gospel. Hence the problem with accidentally deleting something and it being synced as correct before you can fix it...

The SE software will take the newer version of the contact as the right one.

And that's with 4.1 and whatever version it is on Vista.

I think we can agree that Msoft has work to do on activesync, that's for sure, lol.
What disappointed me with the SE software was that even the old Nokia PC suite allowed me to backup texts, whereas the w880 did not.
A strange omission IMHO.
