Finally got around to watching this, wasn't impressed. The build up was far too slow and I just didn't really care what happened after that.

Just watched this and I must say I enjoyed it.

The camerawork would certainly have caused nausea on the big screen but worked on my TV.

Yes the first 10-15 minutes is slow, yes there is bugger all character creation (but then again when is there character creation in modern horror films? And most have the chance, the style of this one made sense that there wasn't).

Lots of it was quite silly, but enjoyable. There was some fantastic CGI and SFX for the monster(s) which me and Jarp both enjoyed.

However I have to dismiss it as complete nonsense on the basis of the camera.

It never runs out of tape.

It never runs out of battery.

It is indestructible.

I FRIGGING WANT ONE!

The camera took several serious blows, hits on the front etc, got dropped, and at the end had a load of masonry drop on it. And the lens still didn't crack?

Watching it has made me drag out my Blair Witch DVD and I'm watching the documentary, "The Curse of the Blair Witch" which I think was made for the Discovery or Sci Fi channel - A fantastic piece of marketing for the movie itself and done really well, going into the background of the legend and all about the film-makers, there are interviews with friends and relatives and various townsfolk from Burkittsville itself. It's been a few years since I saw this and it's great.

Overall I think it's a much better example of this genre than Cloverfield is.

I'd seen the documentary before I saw the film and had heard a fair bit about it before I actually got to see the movie. My own fault, I looked into it after watching the documentary

Sadly I didn't see it at the cinema but only on DVD (I imported the R1 DVD when it was still at the cinema over here) so I didn't go into it in the way I would have like to.

The only scene that got to me was the very last one, and I had a tingle up and down my spine! Nicely spooky and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I suspect I may be watching it tomorrow

I just watched this. I loved it. Really well done. I loved it for being so anti-cinematic. There was no thought to the composition at all, I mean obviously there wouldn't be as most amatuers wouldn't think about nicely framing a giant monster against the city. But you know when a director frames the shot he's thinking about 10 things. Placement of the people, angles to lead into the next frame, where's the monster going to come from. Years of watching films tunes you into this. Its like that recent Topgear Ground Coffee Force. The bit where the tractor topples over. Its so obvious because of the wide angle and framing. None of this in Cloverfield. You have no idea whats going on. Do you need to? No. If that happened for real its not like Will Smith would turn up and fill you in. Being a complete camera geek I also loved that the white balance was wrong. So lots of orange lights because video cameras have white balance issues. From what I've heard you have to readjust them all the time. Its not like digital RAW where you can change it. Its all that attention to detail that creates the illusion that it was real.

Hahaha. End credit music is called "Roar!"

The film was less than 1.30 hours long. I have video tapes more than twice that long - and you can double that again with LP.

Being less than 1.30 hours long - my battery lasts for around 2-3 hours on constantly, but to shoot 1.30 hours of film-easy peasy.

I just watched it and thought it was bloody brilliant! Loved it Loved it Loved it.

The film, and filming, was set over 8(ish) hours despite how much of the 'tape' was used
