As long as it isn't something too big I try and get it delivered to work. If it is something I really need to get on time I usually have to arrange to get it delivered to my folks (though they are a 30 minute drive away so it's not ideal).

Couriers aren't too bad as if they can't deliver and take it back to the depot I can always nip out at lunchtime to pick it up (all the local courier depots are in Inverness). If it's Royal Mail though it's a pain - the local sorting office is only open Mon-Sat 08:00 - 13:00 which is no use to me as I have left for work by then. As I work in a different town I can only pick it up on Saturdays. That is of course if they leave a card to say they have attempted deilvery, Royal Mail probably only leave a card in 30% of cases.

As for leaving stuff with neighbours, this bothers me that they sometimes do this without consent. I had an alcoholic abusive neighbour that I eventually refused to have any dealings with. Fortunately the times things have been left with neighbours they left it with my other neighbour and not him, but that was just through pure luck and not anything else. Lucky as well as they are all in full time work as well so generally if I am not in neither are any of them.

Royal Mail - Postie knows the drill and leaves them for me

Parcelforce - Driver knows the drill and leaves them for me

Parceline - Driver knows the drill and leaves them for me

DHL - Card me and don't reattempt. I collect from Loughborough

Businesspost - Card me and don't reattempt. I collect from Beaumont Leys

Interlink Express - Card me and don't reattempt. Have to race to the depot in Markfield because it shuts at 5 or some equally stupid time.

TNT - I have never had a delivery from! But I'd get them dropped at work, it's easier.

What is most stupid is that they could deliver it to my work address (but i don't find that appropriate and i could get in trouble), so I asked if they could deliver it to the post office in Worcester which is like 5 doors away from my office. They can't

Some reason they can only take it to post office in the town of the original destination, but it's ok to deliver it to a totally different address in another town all together...........

No I didn't, the only CityLink delivery we've had I was in at the time, so that doesn't count.

Lies. Citylink depot is in Barrow upon Soar, which is a stupid place and miles from anywhere.

Furthermore, I am the boss of YOU

I get most stuff delivered to my work, it's fine as long as it's not big. Bigger stuff I get delivered to home and hope it comes on one of my days off or go and collect, either that or I get it delivered to mummykins' work.

I get all my stuff delivered to work apart from when the people I'm ordering from won't send it to another address :/

If it's send by RM it's no problem because Jamie goes to the sorting office every morning anyway ( HURRY UP MY NEW PUNKYFISH STUFFS !!! ) but if it's another courier it can be a pita :/

USPS - Am on first name basis with the postie, so he knows just to leave it in my truck or on the porch.

UPS - I helped him out of the ditch one time in the snow, so he'll go out of his way to either put it in the garage, in my truck, or on the porch.

Both of the above know I have dogs, so the packages actually have to go IN my truck (open door, put package on seat, slam door REALLY hard as it's an old truck). Both also know I work nights so knocking at the door is a REALLY bad idea for me. They know just to treat it as if I'm not home.

DHL - Normally knocks and wakes me up, or just sets it on the porch.

Anyone else knocks, then leaves it sitting on the porch swing.
