I personally like where they're going with the Bond stories. A lot more believable than some of the tripe that Dalton and Moore were forced to work with. Goldeneye and Moonraker are a couple of the worst. The whole concept of the story was ghastly.

This one coming up looks to be interesting. A continuation of Casino Royale. I like the idea.

Of course, anything with Judy playing the person in charge is going to be good!! I've loved her as an actor since she was doing "As Time Goes By". The creme of the crop was when she got to play in the same film as Geoffrey in Tomorrow Never Dies...

New one looks ace, loved the last one too. I made a thread about it at the time iirc, first Bond film I've enjoyed in ages and it's not *just* because of DC walking out the sea in his trolleys.

For me, I quite liked James Bond films when I was younger but disliked Bond himself - found him rather two dimensional, an unreal, arrogant person with no real substance and something missing somewhere. With Craig, he's rounded, you see the reasons why he feels the way he does, you see humour where there was arrogance, a self-doubt that makes him so much more real than the other Bonds. I think the choice to do Casino Royale first to show how he got to where he was was a fantastic idea, and to carry on from there will see the sequel do brilliantly imo. I think you'll see less of the doubt and the emotion - that was to make him who he is and now he'll get on with the job.

I can't remember a Bond film being so long awaited, and I know people are talking about it with a buzz that wasn't there from the last one. CR has opened the Bond franchise to a whole new audience, and if they'd have continued with the silly CGI and the smarmy Bonds then they'd be dying out, not getting bigger.
Summed up perfectly there imo I never felt much excitement about the Brosnan ones (the only ones I grew up with in the cinema I'm afraid) but I was really excited about the progress of CR and that wasn't because of the bloke in it It just looked good and different from other Bonds I'd seen. I've only seen the Dalton and Brosnan ones, and one or two Connery ones (which personally I find cringeworthy but I'm sure that's controversial ), but I know what I like.

I really do need to get my computer back up and running. This laptop just doesn't quite cut it when it comes to playing high quality video. Between Vista hogging all the memory and the video card being absolute crap, I can't watch anything HiDef without an annoying stutter to it.

Problem is, I can't find my video cable for my monitor otherwise I'd already be back on my own system. You know how hard it is trying to find a DVI to SVGA adaptor or a monitor that has DVI inputs?

What would be ideal is to find a DVI to HDMI adapter. There's a display model of an RCA 52" TV at work I could have for pennies on the dollar. Just got to get that house sold now...

I had to reserve one online and then go and collect it (an hour later) because the currys digital in bluewater is staffed by mongs.

If it's not on the shelf they'll claim it's not in stock, so I went in and as expected it wasn't on the shelf and went to say that I'd reserved one and there's none there to be told that they didn't have any in after he went to look. I said "I've reserved it, the stock system says you have some" and he decided that he'd have another look and found loads of them!

Well with the news that Jack White and Alicia Keys have recorded the theme for this movie, the BBC has put together a little quiz...

How Well Do You Know the Bond Themes?

Almost ironically, this was my score
