Sorry Hudds, wasn't trying to take over, this was a lesson in learning for myself as to how easy it was to set up a server. I'll probably leave it running.

If it's source then I won't be in unless I manage to pick it up very cheaply.

And no, it wasn't firewall. All I did was install it on the other PC and point the port forwarding to it and it worked. Ho hum.

Nope, HL1 isn't and HL2 definately isn't (same thing really, just a 'nope' would have done )

HL would. Min spec is a Pentium 133 and "supports a variety of 3D cards, but one is not required". HL2, no idea.

I used to play HL deathmatch with no slowdown on a PII 266 with an Ati Rage Fury card - that was in 1997!

1997? Bloody hell.

I've got HL2 all bought and paid for but I'm wondering if I can remember my Steam login details.
Also last time I tried to reinstall I couldn't get steam to update, kept timing out. Will try again before next week.

Assuming I remember to get it re-installed after I nuke the rig over the weekend, you can count me in.

Gah, I have no idea where my CS:S discs are. Which is a PITA.

I haven't played CS for ages and never tried CS:S. Wouldn't mind giving it a whirl again if we're all having a game for a giggle

Will look into it.
