I don't carry coins smaller than 50p, everything else gets put into a giant box and then slowly traded at the newsagents (much to their annoyance as you can imagine ).

But at home I do have old half pennies, old ten and fifety pence pieces, lots of currencies that were replaced by the Euro etc.

Well at home we have coins dating back to the 16th century... but since this is what is in my wallet now type of question....

I have 2x £1 from 1983.

I have 3 brand new (just manufactered) 1p coins, unused too! Great-grandfather and son, the 1p obviously aspires to be like the £1 some time

£1 from 1983, 2x20p from 1982, and 1p from 1978.

I may have older 1p/2p coins, as I have a few hundred of each stashed away. They're not in my wallet though so I choose not to check them.

Just found a set of 1953 coins (penny up to five shilling). Can't find my 1971 set, and can't find my roman-era coin either.

Got bored, so I looked through my loose change box.

1p and 2p - 1971

Also found an Irish 5 cent coin and a 1p from Jersey in there.
