RocknRolla

Starring
  • Gerard Butler
  • Tony Kebbell
  • Mark Strong

7/10 I don't think I'll be spoiling it when I say it's a pretty typical Guy Ritchie film, better than Revolver probably, not as good as Lock, Stock.. or Snatch. Flashy, quite funny and a couple of good performances, if nothing else you'll have fun recognising the famous faces and where you know them from.

Gerard Butler has ousted Matthew McConoughey from my top three men I'd....like to meet. Hubba, and indeed hubba!

As posted elsewhere, it would have to be "The Strangers".
I'm rapidly running out of new words to accurately describe its crap-ness.

300

Starring
  • Gerard Butler
  • Some other topless blokes in loincloths
  • Monsters
  • Lena Headey
Seen it before, but just got it on HD-DVD so I watched it again.

300 double-hard Spartans kick arse with forward planning and tactics.

CGI blood-spatter appeals to the Dexter Morgan in me too.

10/10 thumbs up from Fayshun.

M*A*S*H

Wonderful film. Haven't seen it in several years and it's better than I remember. Not many films can do that to me.

Perfectly acted with a superb cast - several of which were unknowns at the time. Surgery scenes are just enough to give you the insight as to what being a field surgeon in Korea was like - mainly - bloody.

A wonderful moment in cinema.

9/10

I saw this earlier on I'd say it had surprising depth as me and my Mum managed to discuss it for most of the drive home. Better than Snatch imo, not seen Revolver so can't compare there.
Was really surprised by it as I expected it to be pretty mediocre, but it was really good.

He should have died. He really should. Would have made it so much better, and not because I dislike Tom Cruise generally, but because it would have suited the story so much better and made a much stronger dramatic point. But hey, can't kill off your heroes in Hollywood eh?

End Spoiler Alert!

I lolled so hard at the "and not because I dislike Tom Cruise generally!" Haaaaahahahahahahahahaha! I think two endings would have been nice to satisfy all!

End Spoiler Alert!

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

and

The Strangers

Wet afternoon in Dublin so we went to a double feature.

I had read The Boy in the striped Pajamas, and while not as good as the book, its still a fantastic story, Id recommend watching the film before reading the book though, as i felt they missed too many little things out that made the book really heartwarming.

The Strangers was much ado about nothing, it was decent horror, but felt a bit like the blair witch project.

BOITSP - 8/10

Strangers - 5/10.

Rendition - I really enjoyed this, it shows the damage that avoiding due process can do to suspects and has a number of excellent plot twists. Watch with your brain switched on 8/10
