You could try and fix it but it's obviouslyy relieved itself in a place where it needed to go, so therefore it's probably more comfortable now it's modified itself to accomodate you. Plus it's broken in a place where it's not going to spike you in the bum, so kick back, relax and lap up the added relaxation provided

A cheap fix is to braize the spring back together. Worked on my last sofa

And any spare bits left over just show you've made it more efficient? I've played that game before, it's amazing how much inefficiency there is in modern designs.

I'd do the swapping positions on the sofa thing after I'd fixed it.
