I do have a habbit of chatting to someone and because of being tired i zone out Its awful as I have to say sorry what did you say when they have just said something important |

I've found a lot of people automatically say "how are you" when I open the door but they just carry on walking past not expecting an answer because they've turned it into meaningless words rather than a question

Yeah, it's like when you say 'I'm fine' when you blatantly aren't! Even I've been saying that recently lol

We have someone here in the office who always greets with "you alright?" with a slight lift at the end to make it a question. It's not the normal "alright", "alright" greeting and it grates when she does it.
