Feeling sorry for myself about to start on settlement pattern analysis using pottery sherds. It is about as exciting as it sounds.

Having a brown trouser moment.
Was up at the bedroom window pulling remnants of the old net curtain fixings off the wall when *all* the lights (inside and out) go out and there's an almighty flash through the bedroom window. I was waiting for the bang and the shattering glass, but it didn't come (thank god). The flash came from the local electricity substation which is about 30 yards away from my house. Anyway, I got the remnants off and two new net poles are up. And the power is back on too. I don't think the substation is meant to generate its own lightning though. Just a bit of last-minute packing to sort out now. |

Just sorting out my desk making sure everything is up to date as I leave at 3.50 today only downside is I have to go home, get changed, pack a bag and drive from Leicester to Feltham Traffic is going to be a bitch. I'm only doing this as my sister has flown in from the states and instead of landing yesterday, the flight was cancelled meaning she landed today and muggins here has to take her down south

Being stressed and overwrought at work
Between 2 phones ringing continually, the door going every 5 minutes and no one else being able to open it, stupid staff, irritating relatives and braindead delivery guys I'm ready to snap. I'm thinking of putting something over my head, going "LALALALALA" as loud as possible and doing the "if I can't see you, you can't see me" routine Not even got the work I'm meant to do, done today :/ |

I'm having fun identifying spammers on a mail relay.
I say fun. Its akin to taking a very sharp nail and repeatedly stabbing myself in the eyes with it. Its a horrible job on such a busy platform to weed out the good from the bad. I have just found the biggest sod, a customer running an open relay that was stacking up mass loads of e-mail on one server in the cluster (31,337 to be precise, all now gone.)

I'm listening to Emigrate (http://www.emigrate.eu/Video/My_World - a taster) and drinking a beer. I'm gonna build a PC later and then attempt to set my stereo up in the living room.
