Cheers guys Feels quite good at the moment.
BBx - I've absolutely no idea where the energy comes from. It's my rest day today though and I'm shattered. Hoping to get out first thing tomorrow again, so early night for me. I'm not usually a late night person at all. It's just because you arrived. I'm often asleep in bed by 10 on a Friday Exercising in the morning usually fills me with energy, but I'm very tired by the evening! Well done on your run Jamie, that's an absolutely brilliant distance to run, especially as you've not been out for a while. Make sure you don't push yourself too hard and stretch out properly after.

Cheers Kate
I'll do the same run next time and just add a little extra to the end each time so I'm gradually upping the distance. Must admit I'm a bit crap at my stretching Although I did make sure I had a good walk around afterwards rather than just plonking my arse down on a chair. Know any good sites with some stretching guides?

I use the stretches in a very good book I have called "Run for Life". It's a book aimed at women, but the stretches are very good. Will see if I can photograph it and post it up for you.
Well, I did my first 10k race today in the torrential race complete with thunder/lightning. Thank god the hail passed by just before the race My aim was less than 1 hour and I managed to do it in an unofficial time of 53:26, which I'm absolutely over the moon with. Think my official time was 54:09 (it takes a while to get over the start line), but I'll wait for the results to come out. I never thought for a second I'd do that well I had a pretty even pace throughout, which was good and did a slightly fast middle sector. Started flagging a little in the last mile but managed to pull a sprint finish out of the bag, helped by people from my running club cheering me along. They were proud of me Oh and my running vest isn't grey & black, it's slinky silver and black. BLING BLING Don't think anyone got any photos because it was absolutely tipping it down.
