Nights out in town! Hot (like everyone was sweating hot!) far too busy (20 min queue for a drink!?) and music so loud I had to shout my order to the bar staff 2 feet away

Maybe I'm just old?

These both give me the rage.

Mei and I were crossing a road when a car screached round a corner just so it could nip in front of us. We were unharmed but it cost me an umbrella and a sore hand (I may have sacrificed it on the side of the said car....) Luckily for the driver he didn't stop./

The Channel 4 Paralympics coverage - it's not so much the reporters/commentators as they vary between reasonable and actually quite good but the all too frequent interruptions to the actual events mean it's hard to get as involved. I'm sure that's part of the reason why I've just been looking for the results rather than trying to watch most of the events.

It hit home how bad it is when I realised I was actually feeling a bit bad for Clare Balding having to deal with it... although in all fairness to her she seems to have improved massively as a presenter after that rather crass gaffe with Liam Treadwell.

Nothing to do with being old, except that you become wise enough to have the confidence to say 'actually, this is ****e. My time is better spent elsewhere'.

Finding 2 things rather annoying at the moment....

1) The fact that school forced Megan to wear a PE kit that was 2 sizes too small for her and plimsolls that were also 2 sizes to small as she didn't have her PE kit with her on Thursday. What makes this more annoying is the fact that the reason why they made her wear the PE kit was so she could play Just Dance on the Wii. She didn't even get a turn, just like at least 10 other kids in her class!

And...
2) The fact that I've found out we need to start preparing NOW for the 11 plus exam. She's only just started Year 4 and Year 6 is a long way off! I'm not 100% sure whether we'll apply for Grammar school or not yet, I thought we'd have at least another school year before we started having to worry about the 11 plus and whether or not Megan would sit it or not.

Ok, another one then I'm done...
3) I have to start saving for Megan's Year 6 residential trip NOW.... they are estimating it's going to cost around £200 per child

Completely rational ones here:

1. No sleep now for 4 nights... Feeling quite queezy and running low on energy!
2. Being unable to ride my motorbike.
3. Being unable to play piano.
4. Trying to get visas... Or details on. Including Libya... Nightmare!
5. Estate agents.
6. Solicitors.
7. Fractured thumb bone thingy.

Boo hiss!!!
