Exactly what Jaime said. I feel bad I can't go in, but if you are stuck - and you are, the same as the only road out of my town has me stuck here - then you are stuck, and i'm sure you won't be the only one who doesn't make it in.

Got through to the agency, tried calling Jackie but failled so sent a text and let the only lad who made it in (who lives only seconds from work) know the crack about me getting in / the work that has to be done today... but she's not the kind of person that really gives a **** I think the only way I'll get away with this is if she doesn't make it in either, but we'll see.
The really frustrating thing is my laptop is sitting at work because they wouldn't let me bring it home (as agency we're not insured apparently!) otherwise I could have been working now and not wasted a day!

Kelly, stop feeling guilty that you can't make it into work. You have tried your best, you have contacted more people than you needed to. I don't see how you can be in trouble for not being able to get in because of the weather. It isn't your fault.

Don't worry about it Kelly. Though I know how you feel, I felt the same last year (2nd Feb) when I was snowed in. The worse they can do is make you take it as a holiday or unpaid leave. It's not a sackable offence at all.

Thanks guys I'll stop beating myself up about it, get back into my PJs and pretend its a Sunday. I'm about to cancel the appointments I had set for after work now as well and I might make a hot brekkie to cheer myself up.

Turns out that the biggest delay I had getting into work wasn't the snow but a broken rail on the central line! Despite the hold up I was only 25 minutes late (although technically I can't be late )...
Boss hasn't made it in, contract manager hasn't made it in, which leaves me in charge Unfortunately there is more snow forecast later on so I'll need to make a decision about whether or not to suspend tonight's service...

more here. No buses, thick ice on top of the half a foot of snow. Kids next door nicked half our snow last night to make a snowman Actually feels like Christmas Day again but with even less traffic on the street!
