This is out the front, its thicker than it looks.

This is the back, its starting to melt off the top of stuff but the ground is so thick it not too thick on top of the playhouse now but this morning it was about double that.
The kids want to play in it but its so deep I'd rather they didn't as they will get soaked and cold.

Its amazing how quick some has melted yet its not slushy yet.
10am this morning the snow was almost the height of the bottom of the window on the playhouse.

I was having the same thought about some snow I saw earlier, but then it occurred to me that it could just be compacting under its own weight.

Has anyone else heard about the Severn bridge? Apparently they shut it because massive pieces of ice were falling down and smashing car windscreens.

Bloody hell, no not heard that.

Just spent an hour chatting to a friend on the phone, she is fed up with being snowed in too.
My Mum is walking to the hospital to visit my Dad and its up a steep hill eeek
Its not as bad as it was but still deadly on the roads. I could get a taxi now but only if I walk to the main road as the streets have thick snow on them.
I can't carry ella that far in this lol so will just stay in the warm.

Edit: I'm soooooooooo bored!!!

Yup - both bridges are closed due to that. Newbury has its own version - idiots launching chunks of ice and stones off a bridge over the A34 near our big Tesco store and smashing windscreens. :/

We also have no buses, no rock salt to grit the roads, and it's only just warm enough for the snow to thaw at all. Delightful.

I think I still have about 20kg of rock salt in my garage. I wonder how much the council would pay for it.

Forgot to mention. On the way into work yesterday morning, went past one road where the local residents were out with shovels and salt clearing the road themselves. Fair play to them considering the road they were clearing leads onto a main road.

I have ventured out into the big bad world. Roads are quiet but major routes appear to be passable (with care). Lots of slush about which is going to turn nasty tonight, especially with the lack of gritting (forecasts as low as -7C )

PS - I went out to post a letter. Whether it'll get where it needs to be in time, I really doubt, but if I didn't post it it definitely wouldn't.

We had a light snow over night, unfortunately after and before it iced up... like a snow sandwich

Roads aren't bad now but the pavements are still (and the roads were this morning) just sheets of ice.
