Certainly already done but what the hey....
Wall-E - 9/10 Much has been said about the lack of talking in this film but I found the body language intoxicating and it built two fantastic characters. Animation is fantastic and really benefits from being viewed in HD. Story is pretty simple but it grabbed me and pulled me in. My normal genres are based about bad language, violence and sex so this film was a huge change for me and one that I really enjoyed. |

Death Race (2008)
A remake of the original, although having never seen the original I can't comment on how it holds up against it. Basically the US economy collapses in 2012 and anarchy starts to rule. Private corporations take over the prisons to make a profit. 1 such prison starts hosting Death Fights between inmates and broadcasts them live to the world. Once people start getting bored they host Death Races. If you can survive and win 5 races you go free. Pretty mindless but good fun, it stars Jason Statham so that pretty much tells you what kind of film it is. 7/10 |

The Eye (Jessica Alba)
A Hollywood remake, never seen the original and even without reference, this is still pap. It started off okay but then soon as she start on her crusade on finding out the truth and helping the dead girl the suspense goes out the window and it stopped being a horror movie. Spoiler Alert! - Highlight below to read! p.s. Instead of a horror movie, she actually had superpowers in a way, the fact that she can see who is going to die about a minute before, that would be a superpower in comic books ! End Spoiler Alert! 3/10 |

The original is absolutely superb too. One of the few movies I watched long before a remake was even thought of.
It's becoming something of a movie rule - if Jessica Alba is in it, avoid. |

Urgh.. what a decidedly average-at-best movie that was. Mr Jackson played the same loud, better-than-thou character he routinely plays. Anak.. Hayden Christensen proved that the wooden acting from the two Star Wars prequel films he was in really is just the way he acts. Jamie Bell did a fair job but didn't get a chance to shine, I think he'd have done a better job than Hayden as lead. The whole movie just felt like one big set up for the sequel. I actually watched this again not that long ago whilst on a plane, and just thought "Meh"
