I still find it a little strange that there are zebra crossings all over the place and that people do generally abide by them but then you get someone slowing down just before you get to the crossing so you think "great, I'll cross now" and they speed up to belt across just as you're about to step on.... Morons.

Had a few close calls myself doing that, though not necessarily their fault. I don't always judge distances correctly.
