noticed last night that new maps were being downloaded betweem map changes.. this was taking about 10-15 minutes per map

How long??! The new maps aren't exactly massive (de_dust06 = 7.2Mb, de_ruinas = 10Mb) and that server is sitting on a 34Mbit internet connection so it should be able to upload at about 4.25Mb/s.

What speed is your internet connection Huddy?

Map uploading does seem to be particularly slow, even over my LAN from my server.

Solution: Post a link to the maps so people can download them manually first. de_ruinas is well worth it

I pulled them off the site Burble linked too last night and installed them myself, no bother
