I'm just glad my boss is understanding because there was just no way I was risking our lives to go into work.

probably didn't go in either
Looked quite bad here but not enough to go home, although some of the students decided they were off anyway - so I might not have any work to do this afternoon!

The weather here is strange of late. I woke up at 6:30, opened the bedroom curtains there was at most a very light dusting of snow on the ground so I got ready for work and headed off.
About half way there I started seeing snow settled on the ground but the roads were perfectly clear. About 3/4 of the way there it got very, very heavy - lots of snow on the road and cars slipping and sliding all over the place. It's a windy single carriageway at this point and turning the car around wasn't an option so I carried on to the office. When I got there there were 3 other cars there and 4 people inside. I told everyone to pack up and sod off home. Then I followed my own advise. On the way home I went to see my parents who are only about 12 miles from my house and there was plenty of snow on the ground there. As I was finishing a cuppa the snow started falling again so I decided to head off. About 6 miles from home a blizzard started and I could barely see where I was going. Then about a mile later it stopped and there was just a light dusting of snow on the ground. I'm back home now and it's the same as when I left for work - just a light dusting. I was meant to be at Heathrow tonight for a meeting then in Wokingham tomorrow but I'm pleased that's all been cancelled. |

It's actually been clear all day although the snow hasn't budged. Hopefully work will see sense about me though as the two heroes down my road made it in. The difference is if they have to abandon the car, they could walk back.... whereas I can't in the snow. I'll see how the land lies when I head in tomorrow (if no more snow comes down). |

Yeah I think you have slightly more reason not to go out in the snow Matt!
Aww I have 2 students turn up to my class this afternoon. The rest have legged it, despite it not even snowing any more!!!
