The name used to put me off, so I asked to try some and got a small bowl for free. Grits plus sugar is awesome.

Well best laid plans and all that often go awry(is that the right way to spell it ??) Anywho for me and the family it is and will be Florida. From the very first visit I fell in love with the place. Not for the tourist stuff but just for the people and the atmosphere. People are genuinely nice, welcoming and friendly and the sense of community, co-operation and family are very apparent when you get off the beaten track. Lots and lots of opportunities if your prepared to work for them but the pay offs in terms of quality of life are a lot more. It's hard to put into words how you can just click with a certain place and think you wan't to spend the rest of your life there.

Quite often you loose the sense of wow and buzz a few months of being home from holidays but it's never the case when we come home from there.

The plan is once Baby Loki #2 is born in May 2009, we will be here for another year maybe two then we will check the finances, sell up here, lock stock and barrel and start our own business off out there.

We came so close a few years ago but we were scammed out of a fair bit of money by a visa specialist. On the day we were being interviewed at the US embassy, our so called Visa Specialist went out of business taking us for our savings and a load of bad information which meant our visa application was turned down.

Don't get me wrong - I would relish the opportunity to live abroad for a year or two in various countries but this is my home... If I moved elsewhere it would only be to explore other peoples culture/help out where I can for a minimum amount of time. I would end up back here

Wouldn't complain about living in Southern California, the weather for a start is absolutely fantastic all year round, so much outdoor activity going on, the whole lifestyle is incredibly attractive to me plus California generally has an awful lot of, well pretty much everything, not to mention the missus lives out there...

Erm, I might have to take this back. No travel plans but I certainly didn't see what's happened this morning coming. Scary because it could either be of huge benefit or eventually (3-6 months possibly) make my job redundant. Time will tell.

Can't decide, either america or canada.

Canada I would love the canoeing and hunting in the wilderness.
Amerrica I would love the quad and dirt biking in the sandy hilly dunes.

In both I like the space to have proper size building plots. That I can grow my own veg and build my own house and workshops with out overly stupid planing laws like we have in the uk.

The things I want from life don't seem to be available in the uk. which is annoying. Mainly because this country is so small and with an over protective goverment.

Out in the country like where I lived in Minnesota? Yeah, no problem. But then you have the slight issue of being able to afford to live. When out of the three highest paying places to work in Thief River Falls, Minnesota and the best one to work at was Walmart, it tells you something about the standard of living out there.

But the ability to go four wheeling in my back yard, shoot a Lee Enfield .303 in my yard, and have a romp with the wife outdoors (all without disturbance from neighbors) made up for a lot of the lack of standard of living. But not all of it.

As for where I'd want to live? I'm still trying to convince Tina that Vancouver really isn't all that bad. The one time she saw it was in the middle of winter, 6 months' pregnant, and a big storm blew in across Boundary Bay and the spray from the ocean washing across Hwy 99 terrified the hell out of her.

Ever since that incident she hasn't been too thrilled with the idea of Canada.

Abroad, Canada please, or Montana. I know the bare minimum about both and my choices are based on the romantic notions rather than research
