I don't really feel Christmassy... I never really do - however I'm not a bah-humbug, I just don't buy into all the fuss However, the reason for no tree, is I just don't see the point - sure when you're young it's fun and exciting decorating the tree and everything, but now, I would never do it for myself. If I were in a house with people then yeah I might do. I have more important things to worry about over the Christmas period, i.e. my family and other things.... further more money's tight and I'd rather be a bit more careful and have a bit more of a plain Christmas, but a happy one.

Piggy your tree looks fantastic though

He's right you know, present wrappings a waste of time and more importantly in this ecologically concious time a waste of resources () as you can't re-use most wrapping paper but you can re-use gift bags unless you are spectacularly cack-handed. I'd much prefer not wrapping presents, although I can do it reasonably well it seems like a pointless exercise but I usually do it just to keep up with tradition.

Not ready at all really. I've put up some decs and we have a lovely big tree, but I don't seem to have bought many pressies. I'm only buying for my family, but I'm putting money towards 2 pressies, Leon's Mum has said don't bother (credit crunch and all that) and Leon can't decide which monitor he wants, so that just leaves Nana, Mum and Dad to buy for.

Can't really get into the Christmas mood due to various things, but I am enjoying making cakes, mincemeat etc. and am looking forward to cooking Christmas Dinner on Thursday (HOW sad??? ). Apart from that, it's just nice to have time off

In my opinion it is far better to finally have your own money from your work, than getting money off other people.

The feeling of satisfaction of earning your money more than makes up for it.

Well it did for me anyway

Agreed. JSB whether or not it feels like you're becoming more comfortable, you've done what a lot of people wouldn't have done and that is make the effort to change your life and pick yourself up. That alone is worthy of praise and pride for yourself.
