There have been a few comic book series covering this kind of event, usually linked in with Red Kryptonite in some form.
Batman kicks evil Superman's arse Yet one more reason why Batman is one of my favourite superheros. Alongside Iron Man he is the only superhero without powers, and Iron Man cheats outrageously anyway with his suit of armor making him nearly invulnerable.

Powers are cool though

Ah yes red kryptonite - I got quite into Smallville (until I was forced to leave the country for work) and they featured that a few times. Every superhero seems to have a bit of a weakness... I guess that's what makes them "human".

How does Batman do that if he doesn't have powers?

I sat and watched Spiderman 2 last night. I've only watched it once before and that was because I'd lost the UMD for my PSP.

If you want a "human" superhero I don't think it gets any better than Spider-Man, certainly in the comics. He was the first real superhero to have a proper life outside of fighting crime and it was was made him so popular. His problems have changed over the years but they've not gotten any easier for him

It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Gotten?! Are you american dude?! (just kidding matey! )

Yeah I did like Superman from that point of view - and the fact he was just so inconspicuous. The problem with Superman is that he has just too much moral code it gets frustrating after a while. Spiderman somehow gets away with it. I really used to love all these Marvel comics.

I've not read the series Garp's on about, but I know Superman gave batman a kryptonite ring in case he went bad. If you read the graphic novel called "Tower of Babel" you see that Batman had plans to take out the entire Justice League of America, and how well those plans work.

Skill, pure and utter skill.

That and Kryptonite

I love batman as a character. He's just an ordinary human being, beset by his personal demons, fighting to clean up the streets of the city he loves.
He's trained himself up to the peak of physical and mental condition, and in multiple different fighting disciplines to try to ensure there isn't a situation he can't handle.

Quote:
Batman (originally referred to as the Bat-Man and still sometimes as the Batman) is a DC Comics fictional superhero who first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939. He has since become, along with Superman and Spider-Man, one of the world's most recognized superheroes.[1] Batman was co-created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, although only Kane receives official credit for the character. Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne, a billionaire industrialist, playboy, and philanthropist. Witnessing the murder of his parents as a child leads him to train himself to the peak of physical and intellectual perfection, don a costume, and fight crime. Unlike most superheroes, he does not possess any superhuman powers or abilities; he makes use of intellect, detective skills, science and technology, physical prowess, and intimidation in his war on crime.
