Work machines are similar.

I normally turn desktop icons off, since the rebuild (when Saiken became Phoenix) I haven't, but I delete them all and the recycle bin is hidden behind an eve client most of the time

I only have 3 icons on my desk top and they get moved around depending on what wallpaper I'm using, I have a side toolbar on autohide for everything else

whilst at my brother's house over xmas I was appalled by the hundreds of icons on his desktop...

Good job his computer was Dymbuilt otherwise it'd chug like feek chugging a beer!
