Aaah.
Thought the Mazda 3 MPS was due out this year - looks like Q1 next year instead. Arse. Errr... Will have a shuffle through the various things I've got at home as I'm looking at changing my car before the meet. Already decided mine though - RX-8 231 *cos I'm not allowed an Elise/Exige * If I get it in time you can have a play with it at the meet. Caution - it may be in yellow though. Simon/~Flibster

Around here there are just so many BMW being driven around by chavs that the whole image has been ruined for me. They are obviously good cars and go in pretty much forever, probably a lot less complicated putting a larger engine in to get more BHP than stressing a little 1.8 by bolting on a turbo but then the 1.8 has the advantage of being a bit more frugal on a long run.
If I don't go Audi the options which fit the image I would like will be Merc and SAAB I think, SAAB don't make anything fast enough and if you want a fast Merc you'd better be prepared to pay for it with a massive engine and a big service bill. I'm a bit lost now but if the S3 is a major improvement in the 172 thenI think its going to be THE car. I also saw that for £55 they can retrofit ISOFIX so it could still be THE car for a while to come MB |

The S3 is an entirely different car to the S6 or the RS4 or the S4 the S6 is far too big and thirsty for my needs Back on the point, I've been looking at the RX-8 online and I'm considering getting a drive in one, it would seem that it has most of what I'm looking for, although it also seems to have horrible fuel econony which I'm not sure i could put up with, not being able to get all the way to Wales on a tank of petrol when the car has a bigger capacity then my clio is a bit of a :/ Very tempted to go and see if I fit in one though and maybe go for a test drive. Shame that Saab is out of the window. They are superb cars.
They really need to be RWD though instead of FWD. The 95 Aero HOT is my favourite of the lot. Simon/~Flibster

The RX-8 would cost a fair chunk more to maintain as well you'd think.
