I'll have to give that a try, thanks Garp. I tried some other drops (can't remember what they were called) but they weren't much good - helped a little for about an hour or so.

I'm slowly going blind I think. Never worn glasses or had regular eye tests as I always thought my eyes were fine until I starting sharing a car with vix and realised that she could read the road signs a lot earlier than I could.

Had a test about 18 months ago and the optician reckoned that I didn't 'need' glasses but it wouldn't do any harm if I got some. (no idea what the numbers mean but i've still got my prescriprtion laying about so I could look them up) I never got around to getting any and since then I think my eyes have got worse so I could do with getting tested again and maybe doing something about it.

They're the ones I use, still doesn't feel as clear as my glasses.

Garp: They're not the same strength as my glasses, went through quite a selection of strengths when I was interested in going for contacts. The ones I've got are the nearest I could get.

These were D & A value, the ones I really wanted were obscene money with the posh lenses I have

I tried contacts, but they couldn't get the prescription right as I couldn't give an accurate enough response to their questions - because I have 20:20 vision. I'm just wierd I know

I don't understand this, you have 20:20 vision without your glasses and can read the bottom line, but your eyes are -4.25 and -5.25 (ish)? How does that work?

My eyes are crap, -5 -6 + major astigmatism. Does my head in no end, contacts can't fully correct it without them being stupidly expensive (i mean there already £30 a month) and i can actually read anything but big font without my glasses, although unlike feek i can see the chart (i find that weird, but i sort of have to struggle and kinda focus, i think that stems back to having a slight lazy-fu**ing-eye too though....).

Really annoys me though because i love loads of sports and feel like i'm kinda held back by not being able to see properly... Ie swimming is hilarious, im good at it, but i dont see much, mountain biking i miss the odd rock at high speed coming downhill, and has resulted in me knocking myself out more than the average person, and the list goes on... If theres one thing i could change it would defo be my eyes, as long as i could guarantee they wouldn't get worse (which laser surgery cant, plus they dont look at people with my crappity eyes!)

I don't know what my eyes are measured at in these newfangled +/- thingies. Don't even know what they mean. I do know how bad my eyes are in old money, but I guess I don't need to tell anyone that.

Possibly a weakness in the muscles that control the focus etc.? you can do without glasses but the muscles are working overtime so it gives you a headache after 20 minutes.

The glasses just make life a bit easier on the muscles

I'm just guessing and have no idea if that's even possible.

-3 in left and -2.75 in right. This is annoying because it seems to be that point where you now can't do anything without your glasses including reading, shaving safely, brushing teeth etc. At least when they were a bit weaker I was still blind but I could read without my glasses on.
