I've not universally condemned it or anything, I just don't see any attraction in a simple platform game, whether or not you can play co-operatively and build your own maps or not. I should have a better idea by the end of the weekend though.

I cut my teeth on the original platform games like Manic Miner and Jetset Willy so who knows?

A friend of mine has it though so perhaps he can explain it to me
I was listening to Gamers with Jobs podcast this morning on the way in and he kind of put it nice for me. "It's a great game to sit on your setee and have some fun with your friends. If your bored of blood and guts, dungeons and cars then this might be the refreshing change for you"

It's not the social experience of the Wii but it is something that is a bit refreshing. I think what makes it stand out is that a lot of games nowadays often take you by the hand from point A to Point B. Your goals are very defined. With the odd exception games are about the achievement above the experience.

LBP seems to readress this by ensuring the journey is as much fun as the result.

Not sure if that makes sense really

It doesn't make sense because as a social experience it blows the Wii away.

It does

I wouldn't have bought it from the ads and trailers I've seen so far though. Once I've tried it out, that may change. It doesn't help that I don't have any free time these days. Haven't even had a holiday for over three years
