I'll be pickled enough myself so won't need to bother doing it to food as well

Not that bothered really. I prefer giving to recieving (Said the actress to the Bishop). Really looking forward to seeing Alexander open up his Wii on Xmas day and looking forward to some quality time with the family.
For the first time in ages had a year with more up's than down's and it will be nice to look back and cherish the special moments. |

I genuinely don't care if I get any presents or not. I'd much rather my family kept their money and spent it on themselves. I'm not being miserable, I'm just not a fan of Christmas and the whole exchanging of gifts thing.
I am, however, looking forward to spending the festivities with my family for the first time in 4 years - not because I particularly like Christmas but my Mam loves it and she's sooooo looking forward to having the whole family there this year. I can't wait to see how happy she is to see me ![]()

We're giving Xmas a miss this year as we're tired of the whole 'in yer face' commercialism of the event.
We see the families regularly anyway, buy each other gifts throughout the year and neither of us are particularly religious. We're going to try and get away for a holiday somewhere warm and soak up some sun instead. ![]() |

I am being shamelessly spoilt rotten this year.
I adopted my Mum's Wii a few months ago (only borrowed it for the weekend but got told to keep it, did offer to give them the money they paid for it in installments) and I'm getting a Wii fit. Also, my parents want to buy me a new laptop (I've not asked for one) so I'm keeping my eye out for one. And I asked for an ornament and I is getting it.

I hate the commercialism as well, but I do enjoy the time off and the chance to see my family. Everyone is generally in a better mood as well (probably due to so many people bring off work) which makes seeing everyone much nicer.

The only things I really want I'll be buying myself, although I have no idea what I want. We just a family secret Santa every year now, makes life a lot easier for everybody. Plus with a £20 or so limit, nobody is spending more than anyone else.
