Clint Eastwood is the best director in Hollywood. Talk about having the midas touch!

Out For Justice

Starring
  • Steven Seagal
  • William Forsythe
  • Jerry Orbach
  • Jo Champa
It's a Seagal film, what do you expect?

6/10 It's cheesy, it's entertaining and you won't have to think too hard at any point, perfect for winding down after Christmas. Some great/crap lines in it to smile to as well.

Alien vs Predator - Requiem

Starring
  • Steven Pasquale
  • Reiko Aylesworth
  • John Ortiz
  • Johnny Lewis
The sequel to the lamentable first.

5/10 It's rubbish but it's infinitely better than the first, you still don't feel the Aliens or Predator are scary or that the acting is up to much but I've seen worse and it is the festive season so it gets pass marks.

30 Days of Night

Starring
  • Josh Hartnett
  • Melissa George
  • Danny Huston
  • Ben Foster
Vampire film

7/10 Surprisingly good, I may have to reconsider my previously stated position that Josh Hartnett is Keanu Reeves' successor in the school of wooden acting. He's not great still but quite passable, it's also one of the better horror films I've seen in a long time, there's not a huge amount of tension but it is entertaining, doesn't have a typical ending and features the best use of a snowplough I've ever found.

Twilight

I REALLY liked this film the casting was spot on, didn't think there was anyone who didn't deliver a rubbish performance.

Haven't read any of the books (if anyone has them please can I borrow?) and although it was quite a low budget film and there were some noticeable goof ups.

I thought it was brill! And Cedric is v sexy

8/10

The Dark Knight

I must be only one of five people on the planet who hadn't seen The Dark Knight until today. I have waited patiently for the Blu Ray launch and santy claus duely obliged
g.
In a word or three Out ****** Standing. Finally we get to see glimpses of how Batman is and his relationship with the Joker. Ledger executed the role to perfection.

Day the Earth Stood Still

7/10

Good film but I can't help feeling it was a missed opportunity. The effects were OK but not startling and the story certainly wasn't as good as the original version. The kid was irritating, Reeves was wooden, even beyond what you'd expect from an alien and the ending was a bit "sudden" leaving at least one unanswered question - what was the price the human race would pay for its survival.

*ahem* Seven Pounds

Knew nothing about this until I watched it last night. Very very touching film and a desperate story which is confusing to begin with but it all becomes clear.

A heartbreaking 7.5/10

I've seen trailers for the film for months, but still have absolutely no clue what the story is about in the slightest.

Does anyone remember the days when the trailers actually told you a bit of the story, just enough to get you hooked, rather than all the spectacular bits of CGI?

Well, as apparently it's my job to rock the boat and fly in the face of controversy.....

The Departed.

Well acted in places, well shot and a solid cast.
Problem?
I just didn't care about what happened to the characters, and found the story line to be extremely uninvolving for the viewer.

We watched the trailers for this yesterday because a mate mentioned it and said he didn't know what it was about. After watching them we went and found a plot synopsis cause we had no idea either.
