As for being bad, True Romance, Leon and both new Batman movies prove otherwise . |

Con Air is a brilliant film, I've said it before and I'll say it again - whoever thought Nicholas Cage should do a Southern accent is a genius.
A real 80s classic. Sean Connery in unable to do any other accent shocker. I like Sean Connery as an actor, in fact I think I'm legally obligated to as a Scotsman regardless of what qualities he has but he is atrocious at anything other than being Sean Connery - an Irish Cop, a Russian submarine captain, an Egyptian immortal, all Sean Connery with his patented Scottish brogue sounding precisely nothing like any of the accents should. The Replacements is a pretty rubbish film by most standards but I could quite happily watch it every week of the year, I don't even know why really, it stars Keanu Reeves who has an emotional range that makes Steven Seagal look accomplished and yet I still love it. For that matter I actually enjoy most of Steven Seagal's films too, they're almost universally poor in some sense but I can still watch them without any qualms.

Umm.. yes. Surely the name Zod, the hairstyle and all was a give away as to how cliche and overblown the character was?

I know quality when I see it, old bean Joking aside, this is one of those threads where personal preference and opinion will always differ wildly - it's fascinating to see people destroy films you love or just simply enjoy watching and defend films you detest or think very poor.

Star Wars really is utter space opera schlock. The first film is the worst of them all for it. I really can't help but love it though.
