It's been an extemely humbling experience for me today with the amount of support people have shown, especially those who wandered around London hoping to catch me as I went by. I really do appreciate it

Matt you are right. You lot were perfectly positioned and really picked me up a massive amount. I felt absolutely awful between 23 & 25. My feet were on fire, my legs felt they were falling apart and mentally I was ready to give up, so to raise a smiles was absolutley momentous

thank you!!! Really wish I'd seen kitten & crew in their fab t-shirts a few hundred yards earlier

My official time is 4:03:32 which I am so pleased with. I had 3 goals. The first was just to get to the end. The second was 4:30, a time I would be happy to achieve. The third was my ultimate goal if everything went perfectly <4:00. Considering how congested it was until after canary wharf plus the fact that it was my first marathon, i am absolutely over the bloody moon

Did you make it around without stopping at all, or walking it? I'm so amazed at anyone who can run the whole way without stopping, I could probably manage a couple of miles before collapsing into a heap!

My bro-in-law is one of those stupidly fast, but not fast enough to be pro, people, and he's been lucky enough to classify as 'elite running club' based on his times. He's described it in the past as making all the world of difference for him running times wise with no faffing about with packs of people. If you're interested in running more marathons and maybe beating your time it might be worth looking around for a local running club that has places at it

How go the aches and pains? I imagine it's going to take a week or so for your body to recover!

You do have to be very quick to get to the front and that'll never be me I'm afraid. They put me in a pen far slower than I deserved but so many people put an estimated time of 4.5 hrs that it must be hard to sort out. Thankfully most of the elaborate costumes were behind me so at least I didn't have to dodge them. Might do Leics marathon in Oct. It'll be much less busy, but is slightly hilly. We'll see

No stoppages Davy. Very heavy traffic around the Cutty Sark at mile 7 so had to walk for a few seconds which was frustrating but that wasn't my fault so I'm not counting it. My body was screaming WALK at me at around 25 miles but I seem to have mastered willpower when it comes to running

Feels like I was going really slow there but my pace didn't actually drop.

We wanted to go to the natural history museum today, but the aches have set in now and it's not going to happen. Boooo

Shame because we don't get to come to London often.

You were incredible. I wish you'd seen us too, we had the whole row shouting KAAAATTTTEEE but I'm sure everyone was shouting as you ran past (we were shouting at everyone!) but at least you knew we were there (somewhere!). Everyone did an incredible job and the atmosphere was amazing. Definitely coming next time too

I have to say it's a great even to go to, even if you don't know anyone running. It's the first marathon I've been to and just shouting somebody's name and seeing their face light up and push on further, that 2 second connection with someone, is quite emotional. It's a very strange feeling. It's so nice to see the better side of human nature

As for next year, I'd like to go again even if I don't know anybody running.
