Most important thing;

Hang back, everyone tends to rush in and obviously a lot of shots get fired, take your time in getting there. By the time you get there alot of folks will be killed or wounded, you will be fully souped up with armour and beefy guns hopefully and they should be easy prey for you to smash and rack up the kills.

How about a tip to enable me to succesfuly alt-tab back into CS? I always end up havign to kill the process. It's nothing to do with the pc build as it's happening on my new one too.

William's tips are spot on.

I'm not sure about alt-tabbing because I don't have that problem with CS, although I do with Source. My gut instinct says it's something driver related but otherwise I don't know :/

Map wise, you don't want to go on maps beginning with fy_ Feek. They're just killing/deathmatch style maps.

I would say the best maps to get into are the old favourites:
de_dust
de_dust2
cs_office
de_inferno
maybe de_cbble

There will always be servers around that will have these maps running

I actually quite like some of the fy maps, but the cs ones do nothing for me. I've got a selection on, not huge but it does include all the ones you said.

Any way to get bots into 1.6?

We need to set up a night that everyone can make. I was on the other night and Feek popped up along with some other unknown dude. Then Feek disappeared, I shot the **** out of the other guy and then I left :P

Thats what i thought at first but i'm now playing with a new CPU, Mobo, Memory and GFX card (ATI instead of Nvidia). The onyl thing of relevance i can think of is that i install all games to my D: drive then after a format i just reinstall over the top and keep all my old settings and downloaded content etc.
