I don't know what it is like nowadays, but when I was in school we were taught the green cross code and had it drilled into us that crossing a road without looking and making sure it is clear could get you run over.

Yup, and yet, even in that wondrous past, people still got run over. What does that tell you?

To me it says that kids dont follow instructions 100% of the time. Never have done, never will do.

And so, when a child momentarily forgets to stop, look and listen it would be helpful if some **** wasnt speeding down the road in an effort to get home 3seconds quicker.....

I know, sad isn't it. The kids of today just wont do as they're told, before you know it, they will grow up and start ignoring the law.

Both Pennington Ave and State Route 61 are 55mph zones. Between the school and Pennington Ave is the playground for Kindergarten through grade 3. No kids have ever been hit there. Why? Because they are told, "It's a road. It's for cars, not people. Stay out of the road if you want to live." Guess what? They stay out of the road.

That is a lot safer than most 30mph roads here. There is good visibility from what I can see and the school has a car park that can accomodate more than ten cars - i.e: the road doesn't become a car park that you can't see down every afternoon at 3.45
Not to mention that apart from the school, there doesn't appear to be much of anything on that road

Am I the only person who sees a lot of the 'kids don't listen and think they're invincible' attitude in the very people who say they are safe drivers who shouldn't be bogged down to 70 on a motorway or 30 near a school?
